New Ice Cube Album Announced

Ice Cube Announces New Album

Ice Cube is one of the living legends of Hip Hop’s golden age.  At one point he was launching an album a year. That is a frightening point and with that kind of prolific nature you could be forgiven for thinking there was a lot of filler in his music.  You couldn’t be more wrong, Ice Cube release quality album after quality album.  In fact one of his early albums was listed as the inaugural Album You Must Own – Death Certificate was a classic and still lives on as just as hot a record now.

Ice Cube, who was a member of hip hop supergroup NWA alongside Dr Dre, ruled the West Coast.  His track Good Day is regularly cited as one of the best Hip Hop tracks of all time.  Well, Cube is intent on bringing back that real West Coast flavour and get Hip Hop back to its roots in 2014.  Ice Cube is proving this by announcing the release date for his tenth studio album, Everythang’s Corrupt.

Everythang’s Corrupt is scheduled for a May release date and is the follow-up to his 2010 album I Am The West, revealed on the official Ice Cube Twitter account.  As part of Cube’s return to music he released a new track called Sasquatch on Halloween last year.

“It’s not a heavily political record, but it does have statement songs and rhymes,” Cube told The Huffington Post of the album.  “I got a song called Dominate the Weak, which is just showing you how a police state would look and feel. But hip-hop is in a different space right now when it comes to that. You don’t want to overdo it when it comes to the political stuff.”

In addition to music, Ice Cube continues his acting career, he stars alongside Kevin Hart in the comedy Ride Along.
