Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke ft Pharrell and T.I. (Review)

Review of Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke ft Pharrell and T.I.

There are few tracks that have hit written all over them from the first listen.  ‘Blurred Lines’ the title track from Robin Thicke‘s album is definitely one of those.

Robin Thicke signed to the Neptunes label Star Trak has received critical acclaim and acknowledgement from the RnB and urban music syndicates.  But he has been making real RnB tracks that the commercial audience may not be aware of.  ‘Blurred Lines’ blows that all out of the water though and if this isn’t a number one, I will eat my hat.

‘Blurred Lines’ is a much more fun, pop sounding track than some of Robin Thicke‘s previous efforts.  It has a real upbeat tone to it and Thicke adds some light-hearted vocals to the track.  A continuous beat streams throughout and the variations in the tone make this a great track.

The addition of Pharrell who is not only a brilliant producer and songwriter, he can also add a great lift to any track as a star performer as well. (See the recent collaboration with Daft Punk for confirmation).  T.I. also adds a little something to the track and is definitely not there to make up the numbers.  Apparently there are two versions of the video, a clean one and a slightly more risqué version.  Both are sure to get the attention.

‘Blurred Lines’ has a killer hook in it that will ensure you won’t be able to get the track out of your head.  Definite banker for Robin Thicke.  On the strength of this title track, I can’t wait to see what the album ‘Blurred Lines’ has to offer.
