Valerie June Announce UK Shows

After a mesmerising performance of her debut single ‘Workin’ Woman Blues’ on BBC’s Later… With Jools Holland in November, Valerie June prepares to release the new single from her highly anticipated forthcoming debut album ‘Pushin’ Against a Stone’.  The single will be released through Sunday Best on 4th March and is another insight into her world of beautiful vintage country, gospel and powerful delta blues.

Valerie June announces UK shows

Valerie captivated audiences on her recent visits to the UK at Bestival and her performance at London’s Scala supporting Ryan Bingham. She follows her recent support of one of the most exciting breakthrough British singer songwriters this year; Jake Bugg on his tour and her own sold out gig headlining London’s 100 Club on 5th March with the announcement of more live UK dates this summer.  Valerie will be back in the UK on 10th May to mark the release of her album playing five dates around the country.

Valerie’s new single ‘You Can’t Be Told’ was written by Valerie with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) and Kevin Augunas (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Florence & The Machine) and recorded at Dan’s Easy Eye Studio in Nashville along with several other tracks on the album which was also made in Budapest and LA.

‘You Can’t Be Told’ will be released on 4th March and will be available on download and 7” heavy vinyl alongside second track ‘The World Is Not My Home’, Valerie’s stunning cover of the Albert E. Brumley song which will feature exclusively on this single.  Valerie’s debut album ‘Pushin’ Against a Stone’ is due for release in May 2013.  Both are released through Rob da Bank‘s stellar boutique label Sunday Best, home to David Lynch  and Kitty Daisy & Lewis to name a few.
