Review of Mirrors by Justin Timberlake
Okay, so I ADORE Justin Timberlake and have since his N*Sync days, but as soon as he became a solo artist I was hooked on him. His ;Justified’ album I absolutely played to death, until I scratched it and it now jumps through the songs. But until then I would listen to it over and over again from beginning to the end singing my little heart out word for word. Which FYI I can still remember all the lyrics to them now and start singing the next song before its started. Yes I was that big a fan! I even remember the emotions I felt whilst watching him perform at his ‘Justified’ tour.
You wouldn’t believe how upset I was when he disappeared from the music scene for a while and took to concentrating on acting and other opportunities (even though I do enjoy watching him on the big screen). And then out of no where, like a tidal wave, JT was back, working on his music career and on new material. The excitement I felt when I heard this news I can’t describe. I was instantly reminded of the days I was young and carefree listening to Justified on my CD player, how times have changed.
His comeback song ‘Suit and Tie’ featuring Hip Hop Legend Jay Z burst onto our airwaves and music channels and it was official JT was back! And after the success of that he is now set to release his follow up single entitled ‘Mirrors’ which in my opinion showcases his old sound mixed with a new twist and exciting twist.
Right from the very first beat I got goosebumps and excitement ran through me from the second I pressed play. The beat in the background is typical JT sounding material, and his beautiful voice is on point. From the composition of the song to the lyrics he sings has his name stamped all over them. It is clear to see that he has worked hard and has prepared his comeback to the very last, minor detail.
Whilst the song plays through I just cant help but be taken away to another place and I find myself totally lost in the sound. It almost feels as if he never took a break from the industry and he has always been around, I guess that’s a little down to the fact his music has never stopped being aired or played by me.
I have a great feeling about his comeback and I think he has done it at exactly the right time as we need a solo male artist with his style and sound back into the mix. We were missing this piece of the puzzle in effect for quite a while and no one has ever quite been able to fill his shoes. Not with the unique sound of his music he produces. It is inevitable that he has huge talent, just look at his successful past, I don’t see it being any different this time round, so I done expect to be let down with his stuff.
I guarantee that I will be first in line to purchase his new album on release and I can 100% say he has not let me down with the tracks he has released so far. I will always remain a true Justin fan.
What do you think of this new one from Justin Timberlake. Is he back to his best or are these just fillers to help him earn some comeback cash? Let us know your view by posting a comment below, tweeting us @MusicEyz or posting your view on the Music Eyz Facebook page
