Review of Do You Remember by Serena Soya

Serena Soya is one of those fresh talents emerging from the unsigned urban music scene in the UK at the moment.  In fact, its testament to the whole urban scene in the UK at the moment that this girl hasn’t exploded on to the scene at the moment.

Review of Do You Remember by Serena Soya

‘Do You Remember’ is the first track to be released from her second EP ‘Straight To The Point’.  You can tell from the way Serena delivers her lyrics and from the soulful RnB backing track and Hip Hop enthused beats, that she is a child of pure RnB.  Now without prying, we genuinely believe she hankers for RnB of yesteryear.  Her voice feels like it would be as suited to a Motown sound as it would to something that may have been on an Aaliyah album.  In fact ‘Do You Remember’ has that Aaliyah kind of feel to it.

Serena Soya really does belt out her lyrics and in parts shows off a huge vocal range.  The track delivers real feeling and you genuinely believe in everything she is singing.  The track is very well produced as well, but unlike some of the tracks you here in the charts or clubs nowadays it doesn’t sound over produced.  Serena‘s voice is tamper free, natural in its sound and the track is better for it.

I genuinely believe this is a quality track and Serena Soya really deserves to break through to achieve some genuine commercial success.
