Review of All I Want by Christian Blazier ft Erick Sermon, Redman, Metis and K Koke
Christian Blazier is probably not a name most of you will recognise. Sadly the London rapper lost his battle with cancer last year, whilst he was working on his debut album ‘The Oath’. Paul “Blue Rain” Yomi was determined that he would complete the album in memory of his friend and collaborator.
Obviously with this back story it would be real tough to provide a negative review. Well luckily, we don’t need to worry about that.
When doing a quick search around the web, several versions of the track can be found. The latest one that we are reviewing contains brand new beats and rhymes with Christian trading lyrical boasts with Def Squad members Erick Sermon and Redman.
Christian‘s rhymes are of a high level and demonstrates a potential miss we have with his sad passing away. Erick‘s involvement is a bit inconsistent in terms of rhymes, but the good bits are really good. In terms of Redman, what can I say? I am demonstrating a little bias, as a couple of elements are ripped from Redman of old, but Redman could spit his shopping list as a rhyme and I would be engaged. He is a rapping god to me.
The female chrous is a little weak and the lyrics “this beat is sick” just doesn’t seem to fit with the track. That is a minor criticism, as the production is quality. All of the collaborations add to the track and overall this is a quality offer. I will keep an eye out for the album.
The track is available on a free download. However, the producers would like anybody who rates the track or downloads it to make a donation to Chris’ charity ACLT, a charity dedicated to finding blood and bone marrow donors for black and ethnic minority patients in the UK.
