All Gone Pete Tong & Reboot (Review)

Review of All Gone Pete Tong & Reboot

Along with many other fans I tune in religiously every Friday night to listen to Pete Tong‘s legendary Radio 1 show, to get my weekly hit of the latest tunes from the world of dance music.  So you can imagine my excitement when the latest `All Gone mix with Reboot` landed on my desk earlier this week.

Pete Tong and Reboot announce album and Tour

For those who don’t know the ‘All Gone’ projects are renowned for supporting the best in up-and-coming as well as established talent and this latest release, ‘All Gone Pete Tong & Reboot – Future Sounds’ is no exception.  The compilation is split into 2 mixes, the first by the man Tong himself, and the second by Reboot.

Tong‘s mix really takes you on a journey, each tune has elements of funk and soul within them, building up throughout the mix introducing heavier beats as the mix progresses. Highlights without doubt include Tensnake’s brand new single ‘Mainline’ and Hot Natured’s ‘Benediction’ feat. Ali Love which smashed it up on the dancefloors across Ibiza this summer including at Tongy‘s very own night at Pacha.

As you listen if you close your eyes you could almost be on the top floor open air terrace at space enjoying the Balearic beats.

The second mix is by Reboot.  For those who don’t know, Reboot enjoyed some huge gigs in Ibiza this summer playing alongside Luciano at Cadenza and the incredible day party that is Ushuaia, as well as of course playing at Peter Tong‘s `All Gone` night.  His mix focuses on the more underground house and techno side of things, starting off quite minimalist but then funking it as he moves through the mix dropping some real toe tapping heavy beats, highlights from this talented DJ`s mix include Mark Henning’s ‘You’re Digging Into Me’  and the legendary Dutch techno pioneer Steve Rachmad’s ‘Bling It Up!’  There is also a brand new and exclusive track of his own, ‘Who Stole my Stradivari’.  He is no doubt a DJ to watch over the next year and certainly one to ensure you see on the White Isle next summer.
