Epic Dreamers Remix by Rizzle Kicks (Review)

Review of Epic Dreamers by Rizzle Kicks

Rizzle Kicks are a nice bunch, making radio friendly pop rap music.  The Brighton duo have been really successful and created a winning combination.  They aren’t exactly front of most Hip Hop headz catalogue but they have a created a niche for themself.

Review of Rizzle Kicks Epic Dreamers Remix

This remix is different though.  It contains contributions from the likes of Pharoahe Monch and Professor Green among others.  This is a real Hip Hop sound, one that you would suspect is kind of a transatlantic hit.  The decision by the label to remove Rizzle Kicks from the Olly Murs stateside version of ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ and replace them with Chiddy Bang hurt the boys.

This remix feels like a bit of a response to that.  The boys are keen to ensure they can hold their own and produce real hits themselves.  If I’m honest the original was a little soft and genuinely felt like a Rizzle Kicks album track.  This remix and the collaborations make it a choice track and I would go as far as to say my favourite track they have made.

There are unmistakable moments of Rizzle Kicks but then you add a real hardline sample and great beat which adds to it.  The verses from Professor Green and Pharoahe Monch were brilliant, delivered with real skill.  Bizarrely Ed Sheeran also appears with his own slant on the group rap angle.

This is a real banger, you need it on your iPod, even you Hip Hop headz will like this one. Have a listen, and as usual, let us know what you think.  Add a comment below. Tweet us @MusicEyz or add a comment on the Music Eyz Facebook Wall
